The Programme

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Head Office in Midrand has an opportunity available for an (OD) Intern to provide administrative support to the OD team and relevant stakeholders across all aspects of the OD Department. Maintain administration standards by preparing reports, presentations and researching, analysing, and summarising information.

What You Will Do

This role will be responsible for providing assistance within OD by providing support with the administration of:

  • Administer, score, interpret and write reports on assessments in line with HPCSA standards and internal procedures.
  • Assist with L&D projects in line with assessments for development, programmes, and soft skills interventions.
  • Assist in the process of writing relevant Job advertisements according to job descriptions.
  • Assist with the designing and implementation of climate surveys, 360 surveys and providing feedback to the business, proposing solutions and implementing interventions.
  • Assist with OD projects in order to ensure optimal functioning and effectiveness in a department and within the organisation.
  • Assist with communicating the Dis-Chem Values and ensure sustainment into the organisation.
  • Assist with the administration of the Dis-Chem rewards programme.
  • Assist with Wellness related interventions.
  • Provide assistance with the Dis-Chem performance management process.
  • Printing and distribution of relevant documentation and filing and capturing there off.
  • Assist with arranging meetings for the department and book meeting rooms for these meetings.
  • Ensure accurate administration for the OD department.
  • Ensure the filing system of information is systematically maintained.
  • Keep track of progress for various projects.
  • Ensure accurate and up to date data capturing according to department standards.


Required Skills and Abilities

  • Grade 12 – Matric.
  • Post Graduate Industrial Psychology Qualification.
  • Advantageous - Previous working experience in an FMCG or Retail Environment. Human Resource experience with administration of assessments.
  • In Depth knowledge of the full HR spectrum and the purpose of the different functions within HR.
  • Trustworthy.
  • Self-starter.
  • Diligent.
  • Time management.
  • In Depth knowledge of the full HR spectrum and the purpose of the different functions within HR.
  • Advantageous - 2nd Additional language.
  • Knowledge of the retail environment.
