At Huawei, you can enjoy a colorful life, and have a loving family Heart-warming Activities in Spring March wakes everything up and ushers in Spring with the bloom of flowers. On International Women's Day, women get half a day off and receive lovely presents. Their male colleagues will also prepare a host of surprises for them. Some departments will also hold beauty contests to celebrate this special day.

3+1 Program

The 3+1 program encourages employees to "make a friend", "join in a sports activity", "take up a hobby", and "read a thought-provoking book". In March each year, Huawei holds the 3+1 program for a week – you can expect a greeting card from managers and gifts from colleagues. Also, all employees get involved in a plank competition! These activities are designed to create a healthy and relaxed working environment.

Voice of Huawei

Huawei hosts Voice of Huawei from July to September each year. This popular event attracts many talented young employees, and the set design and lighting evoke the Voice of China. This music festival creates an audio-visual treat for all Huawei employees. Music makes life that much sweeter!

New Year's Eve Party

Globalization

We have set up 16 R&D centers in countries such as Germany, Sweden, the US, India, Russia, Japan, Canada, Turkey, and China. We have also established 117 representative offices covering Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, North America, and Oceania. R&D employees comprise 45% of our total global workforce. Our employees comprise over 160 nationalities from 156 countries and regions, creating a very diverse workforce. In overseas regions, our localization rate is 75%.

Working Environment

Huawei started building the Shenzhen Campus in 1998 and completed construction in 2004. Covering an area of 2 km2, which is equivalent to 280 soccer pitches, Shenzhen Campus has eight different sections, including Section A (administration HQ), Section F (R&D), Section G (manufacturing), and Section J (training).

Covering an area of 1.4 km2, Songshan Lake Campus is located on the shores of Songshan Lake. With a fresh-water lake area of 8 km2 and a green site of 14 km2, Songshan Lake possesses abundant natural resources, a high ratio of plantation coverage, and a green land system capable of absorbing a large quantity of greenhouse gases. The green campus provides a working environment that is at one with nature. When walking through the European-style buildings in the 12 sections, you may feel you are on holiday in Europe!

R&D Centers and Representative Offices Worldwide

Huawei has set up 16 R&D centers and 117 representative offices worldwide. Its R&D centers are located across the world, including Beijing, Shanghai, the US, and Sweden, with each specializing in different domains.

Huawei has defined 14 job categories from which you can freely choose the most suitable. Employees can transfer across job categories when meeting related requirements. In addition, the internal talent market supports free flow of talent.

Huawei University

Huawei University aims to provide all-around training sessions for employees. Established in 2005, Huawei University covers an area of 155,000 m2 and provides hands-on training for employees and customers. At present, Huawei University has over 1,500 part-time trainers, and offers classroom instruction, remote classes, online classes, and other classes. It provides more than 18,000 courses that meet the needs of both employees and customers. The ultimate goal of Huawei University is to use the best talent to develop more outstanding talent.

Huawei University is well equipped, including a cafe, prayer room, and other facilities for trainees of different nationalities and religious beliefs. Huawei University provides customized courses for employees in different stages to help them grow and improve their capabilities.

To meet employees' needs to learn anytime anywhere, Huawei University has also developed a mobile learning app – iLearning, which provides over 30,000 courses.
