An exciting opportunity for a proactive and innovative individual to join our Equity Research team to support regional and global initiatives, working in an entrepreneurial and collaborative culture, based in Hong Kong.
You will be reporting to the Asia Equity Research management team, which oversees Macquarie’s analysts in 11 markets in Asia.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be working with large datasets and financial models and will be responsible to identify opportunities for process improvements, automation and visualization, among others.
The goal is to continuously increase our research capabilities and raise the quality of our research products. You will interact with Research analysts and other colleagues (Sales, Sales traders) at all times.

Required Skills and Abilities
As an ideal candidate, you enjoy the unique combination of programming and analysis. You are either - A recent graduate in Computer Science / Engineering with interests in Equity Research; or in Business, Finance or Accounting but with very strong coding skills.
As a problem solver, your background in programming languages useful for data science (e.g., Python, R, VBA, SQL), your affinity with coding/software in general and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including writing macros) will be crucial to succeed in this role.
You are inquisitive and innovative with high attention to detail, exceptional communication skills and a high degree of English language proficiency. Knowledge of Factset and Bloomberg would be a plus. Knowledge of Power BI would also be a plus.
Prior experience in Equity Research is appreciated but not a requirement.
