internet of things (IoT) is becoming one of the core elements for the smart manufacturing. Microphone and cameras have been introduced for the health monitoring of the manufacturing systems. Large amount of audio and video are being generated in real time which would require advanced analytics such as natural language processing, machine and deep learnings.
In this project, the student will have the opportunity to learn the industrial state-of-art IoT frameworks, have hands-on experiences on both the hardware and software, and work with a team of IoT experts to contribute to the practical issues solving which will have real impact on the manufacturing process.
Explore natural language processing, supervised, unsupervised or hybrid machine learning and deep learning algorithm for the large amount of IoT data processing, including audio and video. Explore unsupervised clustering algorithm for the data processing. Explore deep learning for the data classification. Explore machine learning or deep learning for the novelty detection from the audio/video recorded from the manufacturing systems.
Develop natural language processing, machine learning and deep learning algorithm to detect novelty from the audio/video data. alarm being sent out when there is abnormality detected from the audio/video data.
