The Programme 

For more than a century, our Company has been inventing for life, bringing forward medicines and vaccines for many of the world's most challenging diseases. Today, we continue to be at the forefront of research to deliver innovative health solutions and advance the prevention and treatment of diseases that threaten people and animals around the world.  

Our Company's External Affairs, Policy & Communications Department (EAPC) is responsible for gaining and maintaining timely access to our innovative medicines & vaccines, building the company’s reputation & advocacy and gaining insight into the needs of top customers.  We comprise 3 individuals with deep experience in our respective functions, strong relationships and a fun, open work culture. 

What You Will Do 

  • Working with relevant government stakeholders 
    maintaining a high and positive profile in the media, with external stakeholders and with employees 
  • Supporting Singapore EAPC team on projects across the following areas: 
  • Building our Company’s external reputation through implementing external communications programs, including: 
  • Therapeutic area related media outreach, digital campaigns and patient disease awareness communications   
  • Communications & Narratives on broad policy issues   
  • Corporate communications on company-wide business developments and issues 
  • Communications on our employee value proposition to engage current and potential future staff 
  • Crisis management communications 
  • Strengthening the relationships & capabilities our Company needs to maintain a positive external profile, covering: 
  • Managing agencies, social media experts & content providers to complement internal capabilities 
  • Outreach to top tier health journalists in industry, medical & mainstream media 
  • Developing and delivering our Company’s internal communications program, covering: 
  • Communications from the Managing Director on major announcements, and strategic updates 
  • Employee engagement on company culture, development, diversity, standards & well-being
  • Content development and programming of regular, company-wide town hall meetings our Company's Corporate Social Responsibility programs 

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Preference for prior work / internship experience with corporate sector, pharmaceutical or related industry 
  • Undergraduate qualifications in communications  
  • Graduate or post graduate degree would be an advantage 
  • Broad range of communication skills evidenced by good writing, ability to develop content rapidly, good verbal presentation and social media 
  • Interpersonal effectiveness, particularly in working productively under pressure with the team 
  • Exposure to consumer digital campaign & strategies, or policy-related communications a bonus 
  • Opportunities to work alongside Communications leads, senior management and country leadership team at one of the largest biopharmaceutical companies in Singapore today 
  • Broad range of biopharmaceutical industry communications work including consumer digital campaign, strategies and policy-related communications
