Production Engineer Intern

Operation is part of the Integrated Process Team (IPT) belonging to our Company’s Manufacturing Division, where we deliver cost effective medicines and consumer healthcare products to patients around the world every day through innovation, technical and scientific excellence. Our Pharmaceutical network includes professionals at over 40 locations engaged in providing technical support to new product development, manufacturing and supply. 

What You Will Do 

  • The Production Engineering Intern coordinates and partners with cross functional groups to manage/support the following key activities within the IPT: 
  • Leads investigations and product customer complaints attributable to the IPT 
  • Provides front line troubleshooting on shop floor for process stoppages, interruptions to enable smooth resumption of manufacturing activities 
  • Performs real time problem solving (RTPS) on shop floor to enable right first time problem solving, and minimize production downtime 
  • Continuous improvement on manufacturing processes, with specific focus on harmonization and simplification of operational processes/systems 
  • Assists RTPS for shop floor personnel, with focus on upskilling personnel in RTPS tools, problem solving methodology 
  • Continuous Improvement - Utilizes engineering knowledge, and Lean Six Sigma skills (Kaizen, 5S etc.) to drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on operational efficiency, cost reduction
  • Partners with cross functional team to support and investigation proactive process monitoring trends, deployment of process monitoring tools, usage on the shop floor
  • Proactively work on simplification and system improvement projects in order to enhance safety and quality on the shop floor e.g. lead HIRAs, quality risk assessments
  • Carry out Project/tasks as assigned by the business to the best of ability 

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Current study in Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, preferably in a science or engineering 
  • Demonstrated capability in application of sound engineering and scientific principles, project management skills and structured/analytical problem solving techniques 
  • An excellent team player who is able to readily take on responsibilities and work independently 
  • Strong interest in working in a engineering and operational environment 
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills 
  • Have a positive, proactive, can-do attitude 
  • Keen to learn 
  • Good team player 
  • Strong problem solving skills
