Nomura's Global Markets business facilitates client transactions for a diverse group of institutions including corporations, governments and investment funds around the globe. In addition, we act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, currencies, derivatives as well as structured financial products.
This internship is focused on the Trading function within Global Markets. Nomura has several trading businesses spanning Macro FX & Rates, Credit and Equities. The internship would provide an opportunity for candidates who have a strong interest in trading as a career to gain access to some of the best experienced traders in Asia. Candidates who display clear aptitude may potentially be offered a full time permanent opportunity with the firm after the internship as a first year analyst within the trading function.
Traders sit at the heart of the markets business and are responsible for making markets to our wide spectrum of clients across banks, pension funds, hedge funds, insurance companies and corporate clients. To effectively manage risks originating from both client transactions as well as principal views, traders need to build a deep intuition for financial markets and make risk decisions.
The strength and experience of our trading teams underlies our dominant position in several of these business in Global Markets APAC. We endeavor to provide interns with the same level of exposure as a first-year analyst, participating as a full members of the team.
As an intern, we expect you to demonstrate passion and aptitude towards trading financial markets and display a strong commitment to Nomura's goals and values.
