Graduate Intern - Project Administrative Assistant - IT

 The Programme 

This is a 12-month contract position allowing the incumbent to gain relevant work experience in the financial services industry.  
This role will typically form part of the Sanlam Connect Business Solutions office structure and primarily assist with IT Project administrative functions with the overseeing and reporting on IT compliance and progress towards compliance as according to the Sanlam Group Technology and Information System of Governance. 

What You Will Do 

  • Assist with coordinating of IT Governance workshop sessions with business and business partners. 
  • Assist with communication of various IT standards for the business.  
  • Logging of tasks across the various request logs. 
  • Maintain and manage task lists by pro-actively managing outstanding activities. 
  • Support to develop, roll-out and maintain supplementary IT standards and processes for the business. 
  • Maintain IT Governance implementation plans and collaborate on detailed reports on a quarterly basis. 
  • Monitor and track progress on IT Governance implementation and remediation actions in the business. 
  • Support Sanlam Connect Business Solutions team with Information and Data breach management. 
  • Gathering and maintaining Business Unit IT information (e.g., capturing of IT Applications data, Business Roles, and User Access Information, etc.) 
  • Assist with the various Business Unit reports across areas of IT Governance, IT Risk Management and Application Portfolio Management. 

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Qualification and Experience: 
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. 
  • A relevant business-related Diploma or Degree. 
  • Successful candidates should be unemployed. 
  • Preferably no or very limited previous working experience.
  • Interest in IT Project Management. 

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and MS Teams. 
  • Gathering, evaluating and analyzing information. 
  • Excellent attention to detail. 
  • Report writing principles.
  • Time Management.
