Actuarial Associate Intern

The Programme

As an Intern you will work on project teams focused on life & P&C insurance industry.

You will be assisting project meetings, as well as internal and external communications during projects. You will be responsible for taking meeting notes, supporting project material translation and preparing spreadsheets.

You will work closely with a variety of consultants and project managers who will help you increase your insurance knowledge and sharpen your actuarial skills - All while providing a blend of client facing skills as well.

Internship Begin - 1 January 2022 (3 ~4 months; full-time internship).

The Intern can be converted to a regular employee after reviewing his/her performance of internship period. 

What You Will Do

You will Contribute to Varied and Interesting Projects such as:

  • Data analysis using the statistical tool (SAS or SQL).
  • Support consultants.
  • Best estimate assumption management process enhancement.
  • Documentation support - Including translation. 

Performance Objectives:


  • Work collaboratively with other associates and consultants to determine initial data needs, examine obtained client information and perform any follow up work required to populate complete information sets.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Insurance industry and become familiar with the data, information, and various steps needed for reserving, pricing and capital management activities.
  • Prepare the first draft of reports for review by Lead Analysts/Consultants.
  • Manage your time effectively between multiple assignments at a time.  


  • Build strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels.  


  • Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Preferred academic background of Actuarial Science/Mathematics/Statistics.
  • Strong analytical and integrative skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, both in English and Korean.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Strong knowledge in statistics and statistical tool.
  • Skills in actuarial science preferred.
  • Some experience in an insurance, actuarial or financial environment preferred.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues; strong client service orientation Interest and ability to think beyond the task at hand and understand how one’s work fits into the broader landscape.
  • Fluent in English and Korean.
